Ride Around the Lake is a recreational cycle for Charity. Each May, hundreds of people ride around the picturesque lake Illawarra to raise money for charity.
Having assisted in 2015 as a videographer, I was honoured to be selected to lead media and communications for the event in 2016 and again in 2017.
The first thing I proposed was creating a new website, as the existing site was almost a decade old, slow and did not effectively communicate the details of the event.

While I was assessing the clients’ needs, the customer bookings team reported having high amounts of inquiries for simple event details. I proposed creating a clear and simple design for the new website as well as a Motion Graphic to visually communicate details in a captivating way
I also created a wide variety of print media to promote the event, promote sponsors, and communicate messages during the event.

With assistance from the customer service/booking team, we created an FAQ section that addressed the biggest pain points for customers. With the introduction of the new site and the motion graphic, they saw notably lower customer support tickets for event- related information then previous years.
The website was created with a responsive design and optimised for fast load times as I observed that the majority of traffic on the old site was via mobile.

In addition to the web design, I also looked after the server (VPS), ensuring fast operations, applying security patches, backing up Via FTP and keeping everything up to date.
As the event is no longer running the site has since been shutdown.
