Paul Bartlett, leader of Lighthouse Online and Chaplain for the Illawarra Hawks, had a motto: “Lean in.” It’s a mindset that defines the team culture, and I wanted to capture that in a way that truly brought it to life. To create the two final videos I filmed content during Basketball games and an interview with Head Coach Rob Beveridge.

During the games, I focused not just on the action, but on the bench, the moments most people overlook. Every time a shot went up or the Hawks had possession, the players literally leaned in eyes locked, bodies tensed, ready to jump up in support. Even those who might not step on the court all season were fully engaged, living every play as if they were in the game themselves.

I used slow motion to help capture and convey these emotional moments.
